While working as an Adoption Counselor at the Peninsula Humane Society, Jessie also obtained her Professional Dog Training certification through Animal Behavior College in 2017. She has since completed shadow programs and studied under world renounced trainers. Jessie continues her education by attending seminars or taking courses to stay up to date on the most current dog training techniques and science. As science is ever-evolving, she truly believes every dog trainer is a forever student.
She spent many years as a force-free dog trainer but has since crossed over to balanced training. Jessie believes providing clarity with structure, boundaries, and proper utilization of all quadrants, creates a well-rounded dog. She thoroughly enjoys teaching owners how to live in harmony with their dogs, while also honoring their inherent doginess.
Jessie enjoys spending her free time with her competitive dog sport club and is currently raising a Dutch Shepherd to compete in the Protection Sports Association. She has aspirations of competing at high levels in obedience and protection. Jessie continues to work with her demo dog, Petunia, helping other owners and dogs with behavioral issues.
